”My Son Impregnated Jumoke When She Was Learning Hairdressing” -Mother-in-Law Of Bread Seller Turned Model

olajumoke and husband 1

The breadseller turned model, Jumoke Orisaguna’s story will not be complete without inputs from her immediate family.
In a recent interview, Olajumoke’s mother-in-law, Mrs Janet Orisaguna talks about how she met her son and her daughter-in-law’s fame.
How did you receive the news of Olajumoke’s fortune with her pictures in newspapers and on social media?
”She is my son’s wife but I treat her as my own daughter. I felt very happy when I heard the good news”
Since your son, Sunday, married Olajumoke, how would you describe her attitude?

”She has always exhibited a good character. My son met and impregnated her when she was learning hairdressing. My son had phoned me from Lagos and said that if I heard that he impregnated a girl, it was true and he was ready to marry her. In the evening of that day, somebody brought Jumoke and mentioned Sunday as the one who put her in the family way. I said there was no problem and asked her to come and stay with me.
Some weeks later, she brought her luggage and began living with me here. I soon went to meet her parents and told them that we had accepted her as our wife and daughter. Since she gave birth, I have been taking care of her. Sometime last year, she told me that she was going to Lagos to work and I gave her my blessing. She dropped her firstborn for her mother but when the child was sick, my in-law brought her to me, saying that she said he wanted to see her father (Sunday), who was then in Osogbo, where he was learning to make aluminium doors and windows. Sunday came to Iree for the weekend and we took the child to the hospital and thereafter, she was okay. But when Jumoke heard that her child was sick, she said she wanted to come and take her to Lagos and I said there was no need for that. Not quite long afterwards, she came to Iree and started staying here.
However, in January, this year, she told me that she was going back to Lagos and I asked about her decision to return to Lagos. This time, she took her two children to Lagos but I was not comfortable with it and I gave her husband money to go and bring back the first child so that she could continue her education in Iree. I didn’t want anything to disrupt her education because it might be difficult to find a school for her in Lagos.
She later brought the child back to Iree. About a week after, she went back to Lagos and the next thing we heard in the news is that she has become a model. We did not really take the news seriously at first. Her husband called and told me that he wanted to travel to Lagos because some people took the picture of Jumoke and they were looking for her and eventually found her at the bakery where she usually bought bread in large quantities. He said they asked him to come to Lagos over the matter. I gave him the transport fare and he left for Lagos. When he got to Lagos, Sunday called me and said that it was good news and we were all happy”
What is your advice for Olajumoke now?

”This is a thing of joy for me and Jumoke’s parents. For us in the Orisagunna family, we see it as a big success. Jumoke and her husband, my son, should continue to pray and thank God and realise that it is God who has brought them this far in life.”

Arik Air Worker Disappears After Visiting Lagos Lover.

Grace-Utum

A worker with Arik Air, Grace Utum, has gone missing after a visit to her lover, Ihuoma Amelogu, who lives in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the 29-year-old Cross River State indigene had left her Ikeja office for her lover’s house on January 1, 2016.However, her whereabouts had since been shrouded in mystery.
Grace, a graduate of Accounting, University of Calabar, was said to be working in the hospitality department of Arik. The case was reported at the Ojodu Police Division and Amelogu was reportedly arrested.
It was learnt that a mobile phone and a handbag belonging to the victim were found in his apartment on the day Grace went missing. He was, however, released after police said there was nothing to connect him with the disappearance.
An uncle of the victim, Felix Omini, explained that the family became worried after her mother called one of her telephone lines and a stranger picked the call.
He said, “Her mother called her that night and discovered that it was a stranger that picked the call. The stranger said the phone was missing and its owner had called him and said she was coming for it in company with a man.
“Grace’s mother called her boyfriend, Amelogu, thinking he was the man the stranger was referring to. But he said he had also been trying to reach her without success.”
Omini said he called 32-year-old Amelogu and together they went to report the matter at the police station. The victim’s father, Obongha Utum, said Grace and Amelogu had been dating for three years and would have been married, but for a problem with their blood compatibility.
He said, “The police said we should talk to the boyfriend because that was where she said she was going, but I don’t know what to think. They are church members and were supposed to have been married; but that became impossible after they discovered their genotypes were not compatible.“We have also gone to Agbado Crossing in Ogun State, where she lived with a friend. We didn’t meet anybody in the house; everywhere was deserted.”
When contacted, Amelogu said he last communicated with Grace around 3pm on January 1.
He explained that efforts to get across to her through her friends had been abortive.
He said, “We were together on December 31, 2015; she slept at my place. She sometimes stayed at my place because her office in Ikeja is closer to my house in Ojodu Berger. She rented an apartment in Agbado Crossing, Ogun State.“Around 6am on January 1, she said she was going to the office. We always had a family reunion every New Year at my uncle’s place in Ajah, so we planned to meet there.“I spoke with her around 12 noon. Then around 3pm, when I was at my uncle’s place, we communicated again and I asked if she was still coming. She said she was rounding off at the office and would soon join me.”
The civil engineer said his girlfriend’s line, however, became unreachable around 5pm and despite calling till 7pm, he didn’t get through. He said her mother called him from Port Harcourt around 10pm to ask if he had seen her daughter.
“Her mother said she called her and a stranger picked it and said the phone was missing. I was surprised because she (Grace) didn’t call me that she had misplaced her phone.
“I decided to call the number myself, but it was unreachable. I kept calling till 2am, when it was switched off,” he added.
It was gathered that Grace’s family contacted a telecommunication company to track her calls, but they were asked to get a court order.Access to her bank accounts were also said to have been blocked.
The Arik Air spokesperson, Adebanji Ola, confirmed the incident, adding that the company was working with the family and the police to get to the roots of the case.
He said, “Yes, she works with us. She has not reported for duty for some time now and we were told she was missing. The family and the police have been here and we are doing everything possible to support investigations.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, also confirmed the incident, adding that the police arrested Amelogu and later released him.
She said, “Necessary police procedure to be done in the case of the missing person has been done. The boyfriend, who was actually the complainant, was arrested and investigated, but there was nothing to link him with Grace’s disappearance, hence his release. But investigation is ongoing.”

#BringBackOurGirls Group Raises Alarm Over New Ways of Boko Haram Attack

bringbackourgirls-abuja-

The #BringBackOurGirls group has raised the alarm over new methods employed by the Boko Haram sect in carrying out their activities and urged citizens to watch out for these methods.
Speaking at the group’s sit-out yesterday, a member of the group, Shehu Abubakar explained that the disturbing issue in the latest attacks is that the insurgents succeed in luring people and then attack.
This method, Abubakar explained, led to so many deaths in Dalori recently when the sect succeeded in luring people before allowing those with arms to attack and kill so many people.
The group further called on the world to unify in tackling insurgency and terrorism as no nation is capable of defeating terrorism alone.
“The insurgency is everywhere bringing in new ways of attacking people. No nation can fight insurgency alone. It is a global phenomenon. The world needs to come together to fight insurgency. We all need to come together to confront the monster or they will continue to kill and maim people.
“The people should be sensitised. There are security tips which should be passed across to people especially in the Northeast. There should be basic security tips for people in the communities so that we will be able to prevent having lots of casualties,” he noted.
Speaking further he commended the military for its effort in averting what would have been another attack in Maiduguri when the Boko Haram attempted to attack recently.
“I am happy to hear that another attack has been averted. We hope that it will continue that way. We also heard that some people were rescued. We are hoping that the Chibok girls will be rescued soon,” he said.
